I have this stem and have had it for just over a year now. It's never shown any corrosion. I love its weight and it's height. It's a great stem in my opinion and I like it more the longer I have it. I replaced the clay ball that came with mine with a plastic bb, it purges perfectly. The topmost piece above the tray rest will twist easily in either direction--this has always made me nervous but I just don't mess with it and I've never had a leakage problem so I guess it's okay. A Heba diffuser WILL fit this, although it has to be cut a bit to do so.
