Good coals not as good as coconut charcoal but good heat. A lot of ash is produced but no taste or odour. Be careful when moving the coals as they are quite brittle

these coals are not quick lite, it says on the box that they are easy light all i did was throw em on the stove top and they were ready in about 5 mins although they give off a coal odor when they are heating up they are not that bad.
